  • Indigenous Training Ministries

The mission of Indigenous Training Ministries, Inc. is to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ, and advance the Kingdom of God worldwide through the training, equipping and encouraging indigenous Christian leaders. This is being accomplished primarily by means of a leadership training curriculum that is provided to indigenous Christian leaders who then use it to facilitate the teaching of others. The intended result is that those taught go forth and plant churches and assist other established ministries to advance the good news of Jesus Christ in fulfillment of the Great Commission (Matthew 28:19)

Volunteer opportunities include becoming a qualified Bible teacher and assisting in our training center and more.

  • International Christian Development Mission

International Christian Development Mission (ICDM) ministers primarily in Haiti, a tiny country in the West Indies just 800 miles from Miami, Florida. This neighbor of the richest nation on Earth is the poorest in the Western Hemisphere and the third hungriest in the world. Six out of 10 Haitians cannot read or write. There are no adequate roads, schools, health care, sanitation or clean water, and many rural areas have no electricity. Malnutrition claims the lives of countless children and elderly persons every year. The mission of ICDM is to teach and preach the good news of Jesus Christ, help impoverished people become self-supporting, and educate and motivate children, youth and adults.

Volunteer opportunities include sponsoring a child monthly which will provide a christian education, school uniform and meals. Also, short term mission teams visit the school and neighboring communities doing projects, leading lessons, working and playing with children and more.

  • Manaleni Achievement Center (MAC) :: South Africa

The HIV/AIDS Ministry is St. James' response to the global AIDS pandemic in South Africa, where 2 million children have lost one or both parents to AIDS. St. James provides financial support for the Manaleni Center, a day care center that allows 140 children to be fed, cared for and have access to education. Since 2007, teams from St. James have traveled to Manaleni each year to build relationships and share Jesus' love with the children and staff at the center and in the community.

Volunteer opportunities include participating in a mission trip to South Africa (usually late September), writing letters to a child at the Manaleni Center, financial donations, prayer and more.

Want to see what it's like going to the Manaleni Center?  Check out this video re-cap of the 2016 mission trip.

  • Operation Christmas Child

Through donations and a partnership with Samaritan’s purse, shoe boxes full of toys and hygiene items are collected during the Christmas Season. Collection is done each year for needy children around the world with an accompanying sharing of the Gospel message.  Boxes are available in the Sanctuary Lobby during October/November each year. Collections are done in the Metropolitan Ministries tent the week prior to Thanksgiving. Serve a shift in the Metropolitan Ministries for pick up and/or donate a box.

See what Christmas looks like in Haiti with the helping hands of Operation Christmas Child!
