SJUMC-Child & Youth Protection Policy Training

A central tenet of the Christian faith is the inherent value and worth of all children, youth and adults. Children and youth are least able to protect themselves in our society and are particularly vulnerable to abuse and neglect. St. James United Methodist Church is desirous of doing what we can to protect our youth, children, vulnerable adults and volunteers who participate in the life of this congregation.

Annual Child Protection Training is required by the Methodist Conference for all adults working with children or youth. This will be a mandatory training each year for staff and volunteers.

We believe that the safety of our children and parent confidence is of the utmost importance. Therefore, each person applying to work/volunteer with children/youth shall authorize the church to conduct an Authorization and Request for Criminal Records Check, Reference Check, and fill out a Volunteer Application.
Welcome to St. James United Methodist Church! We are excited to have you minister to His children, vulnerable adults and youth!
